Club Development
Practical support, delivered directly to clubs.
The proposed LDL Club Support Taskforce.
Why clubs need practical help
Football clubs across Limerick are run by volunteers who already give enormous amounts of time to fixtures, registrations, finances, fundraising and facilities.
At the same time, clubs face growing responsibilities around governance, safeguarding, administration and compliance. Many volunteers simply don't have the time, specialist expertise or administrative resources to manage every development opportunity on their own.
The proposed taskforce would bring experienced volunteers and professionals together to provide practical assistance, rather than simply directing clubs towards guidelines.
What the taskforce would do
Club visits
Visit participating clubs and sit down with committees to understand their needs.
Governance documentation
Help committees prepare and review the governance documents they need.
FAI Club Mark
Support progress towards FAI Club Mark accreditation and good governance practice.
Shared templates
Introduce shared administrative templates that clubs can adapt, so no one starts from scratch.
IT and digital support
Provide IT and digital administration support for club systems and records.
Workshops and training
Organise workshops and practical training for club volunteers.
Connecting expertise
Connect clubs with suitable volunteers and professionals from across Limerick.
Ongoing follow-up
Maintain ongoing contact, with a named support contact to work through agreed actions.
Working alongside the FAI
The Football Association of Ireland sets national standards and provides development resources. The taskforce would work alongside the FAI and complement existing national supports, helping clubs put those standards into practice locally rather than duplicating them.
