Mark's Vision

Building the Future of Limerick Football

Mark Heffernan's proposed development vision for the Limerick District League, shaped through engagement with clubs.

A league that actively supports its clubs

Football clubs across Limerick city and county are run by dedicated volunteers. This vision sets out how the Limerick District League could do more to support them, both on and off the pitch.

It is organised around six areas. Each one is a starting point for discussion with affiliated clubs, and several are developed further in the proposed LDL 2030 programmes.

The person behind the vision

About Mark Heffernan

Mark Heffernan is involved in Limerick football through Carew Limerick FC, with experience in club administration, football development and grassroots football.

His background includes involvement in the Carew2030 development project, experience with League of Ireland academy structures and professional experience in construction, where planning, realistic budgets and value for money matter.

Mark has been nominated for the position of Chairperson of the Limerick District League. Limerick Football – Stronger Together sets out the development vision he wants to bring forward, through that election and beyond it.
