A Message to Limerick Football Clubs

Mark Heffernan , Candidate for LDL Chairperson

Letter from Mark Heffernan

Dear Club Secretaries,

My name is Mark Heffernan, and I was honoured to recently be nominated for the role of Chairperson of the Limerick District League.

If elected, I am committed to working in partnership with clubs across the league to support their development both on and off the pitch. I believe the LDL should be a league that actively supports its clubs, helping to strengthen capacity and raise standards in areas such as governance, finance and investment, football development, volunteer development, safeguarding, and infrastructure.

My ambition is to help make the LDL a stronger, more progressive league that delivers for its member clubs, underpinned by strong governance, meaningful support, and continuous development.

To help shape that vision, I will shortly circulate a brief survey seeking your club's views on the strengths of the LDL, the key challenges facing the league, and the priorities that should shape its future development.

I will also be reaching out over the coming days to engage directly with clubs and gather further feedback. Your input will be invaluable in helping to identify where the league can best support clubs and continue to build on what is already working well.

In addition, I will be writing formally to clubs to make myself available to meet with club representatives on any matters they feel are relevant to the continued development of the league and football across the district.

I look forward to engaging with you and hearing your views on the future of Limerick football.

Mark Heffernan

Candidate for LDL Chairperson
